How Does IPL Work?
Your IPL technician uses a hand-held wand to deliver a dose of broad-spectrum light to your skin. The light travels through the skin, where it is converted to heat that targets damaged cells – where the highest concentration of melanin resides. As the light heats the melanin, the damaged cells move toward the surface of the skin, where they fade and may eventually disappear.
What Can I Expect from my IPL Rejuvenation Treatment?
Your IPL technician uses one of the most advanced hair removal and skin rejuvenation systems available. The “variable pulse” means we can perform IPL on a wider range of hair and skin types than ever before.
Depending on the area you’re targeting, your IPL treatment could last between 10-60 minutes. After two weeks, you’ll see red spots, blemishes, sun damage and other skin conditions fading and improving, and your skin can feel firmer.
Most people will require 4-6 treatments, over a period of 6-8 months, to see the desired results. At your initial consultation, we’ll lay out a treatment plan tailored to your individual skin.
How Do I Care for My Skin After IPL?
For six weeks after IPL treatment, keep your skin out of sunlight, as sun exposure can reduce the effectiveness of the treatment.
If you’re worried, you can take a dose of paracetamol tablets 30 minutes prior to your IPL treatment.
